By my estimate, UK residential property is worth about £10 trillion. That's quadruple the entire FTSE 100.
For most of us, our home is the largest investment we make in our lives.
Yet transparency in this asset class is terrible. The UK House Price Index (HPI) is somewhat helpful, but heavily adjusted, poorly understood and cumbersome to explore. It also tells us nothing about other key trends, like rents, yields, affordability and demographics.
So, I decided to leverage my background in investment and technology to build Brickview.ai, a searchable intelligence engine for UK property. I am not a property expert. In fact, the project was in part an effort to alleviate my own bewilderment with UK property. I am however not bad at organising, enriching and visualising data.
Whether you're a homeowner, property investor, economist, or journalist, I hope Brickview proves a helpful source of truth for fundamental trends in UK housing.
It's free.
If you'd like to better understand Brickview's methodology or have other enquiries, feel free to reach out.
